This piece is about connecting with my Muse and the voice of the soul beginning to speak. It speaks differently through image, symbol and colour, allowing it to be embodied, energised and physical. I write my intention for this work on the canvas asking to open my heart and trust the messages. I sat and did a meditation and the message I received was… ‘Time is now. Jump in it’s here. Stop putting it off”. The messenger had a scarf of a snake around her neck and arms that sent flames to my feet.
The flames surrounded me giving me the spark and flame to ignite my heart and hear her voice. The snake is very symbolic for me, it symbolizes transformation. I feel I go through a similar process with shedding of the old skin. Fire allows me to transmute; it burns away what I no longer need or want to carry forward in life.
