Pieces of Me

In a time of feeling stuck as an artist, I decided to paint the canvas black with no idea or intention of what would unfold. I painted a series of red symbols, then merging them with colours in between. Emerging slowly, I could see these different shapes appear that represent different Artefacts - parts of me – body, masks, vision, voice, heart etc. I used a series of glazing, shading and line work to bring them to the forefront. Glazing is a way to integrate me as a whole.
